Prosecution: 25 years to prison for Gashi

25/10/2011 00:00

The Prosecution of Serious Crimes asked the judge a sentence of 25 years
to prison for one of the Durres Gang members, Bujar Gashi, who is being
trialed separately from the other members.

The Prosecutor told the court that Bujar Gashi had been involved with the criminal organization until 2000, and then left for Italy, where he was arrested by Interpol Tirana. According to the Prosecutor, Gashi must be found guilty for the murder of Dritan Disha, an execution that according to the Prosecution has been organized for revenge.

The prosecutor argued his position in this crime by saying that Bujar Gashi, together with Indrit Taullai, have gone to the Shenavlash village for warning Adriatik Coli and Endrit Dokle that there was an ambush against Dritan Disha.

When Disha was driving near the ambush, the collaborators have signaled their friends by gunshots, and the ambushers have started shooting against the victim. The Prosecution was unable to give the arguments for the next charge, that of producing and possessing illegal weapons, which was objected by the defending lawyer, Ilia Ilia.

The Prosecutor also explained that on the murder scene, police found 40 shells that had come out from to two other guns, and the prosecution hasn’t been able to find who they belonged to. Gashi’s defending lawyer is expected to object this accusation too. The defending lawyers are also expected to prepare for the next process against the Durres Band, for which the Prosecution has asked a life to prison sentence.
