PM Edi Rama accused the opposition of lacking the good will for justice reform, and of trying desperately to block it.
“We saw another chain of reactions that make it clear for the lack of will by the DP to complete the justice reform on time. To our appeal for becoming part of the Parliament, the DP answered with appeals to get armed and defend from the justice reform”, Rama declared.
“Besides the need to criminalize the government through any possible way, the DP now feels it necessary to block the justice reforms”, Rama added.
Most of the Prime Minister’s speech focused on the economy. Despite the pessimistic declarations, Rama said, it is undergoing positive moments. This, according to Rama, was confirmed by the World Bank during his visit in the USA.
“The public debt is totally under control. The intervention in 2013 avoided a financial collapse and reduced it. We have given lower taxes for 97% of Albanains, while foreign investments have reached a historic record. On the other hand, unemployment remains a huge challenge for Albania and the region”, Rama said.
The Prime Minister said that his government has started the highest number of reforms to establish the rule of law.
“We made the tax system reform, necessary to balance the economy. We started a reform at the energy system, turning it from a failed system into one that makes room for revenues. We have started reforms in the social welfare assistance, with all levels of the education system, the health system, the police, the public administration, etc”, Rama underlined.
For Rama, these reforms require their time in order to give the desired results. The SP leader referred to the assembly of this party, saying that the recovery of this forum are a positive premise for succeeding.
“I appeal the new leadership to keep our high level. We are in a historic phase for our country, which coincides with the reconfirmation of the government mandate in the next year. Let’s start the new dialogue with Albania, but we need to start it from the base and the SP should continue it in every part of Albania”, Rama said.
