Today, President Ilir Meta has decreed Olta Xhaçka and Niko Peleshi in their new duties, respectively at the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense.
Two days ago, Prime Minister Edi Rama through a post on Twitter, announced the changes in the government, with which he returned a former minister who is under investigation for the pesticide scandal in the Ministry of Agriculture.
He also fired incumbent Foreign Minister Gent Cakaj, entrusting diplomacy to Olta Xhacka, who comes after the direction of the defense ministry.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has entrusted the Ministry of Defense to Niko Peleshi, who last time was in the government as Minister of Agriculture, and is still under investigation for the mixed silicon material scandal, a chemical that Peleshi gave permission to import as fertilizer for agriculture, which it was a pesticide.
Following the scandal denounced by Top Channel, the prosecution launched investigations, that do not seem to be yielding much results.
