The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, met with his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor.
Meta congratulated him for his re-election and expressed his gratitude for the support that Slovenia to Albania and Western Balkan about the European integration process.
Meta and Pahor valued the recent progress in the Balkan region and share the same opinion about the need to harmonize and better coordinate their stances.
They valued the important role that could play the initiative of the Brdo-Brijunit process, and to preserve the EU focus on Western Balkan with concrete enlargement steps.
President Meta expressed trust that the support of Slovenia for starting the EU accession negotiations will be significant and will encourage continuing reforms and fulfill the necessary criteria and standards.
Meta invited Pahor to an official visit in Albania, which may be realized in the upcoming months.
