President Ilir Meta in a press conference today, spoke harshly after the incident in Fier, where local authorities removed the electoral banners of the SMI party.
He started his speech by saying that the mayor of Fier will go to prison, “not only for this but also for other serious violations”.
Meta also made an unusual appeal to the residents of Fier district, asking them to ‘stand up with forks and axes’ in case of touching of the ballots.
“Yes, remove your banners until the Rama rally is over, and then put them up again, as this is not the biggest problem that Fier has, the citizens know what the mayor has done, and they will give him his sentence by vote.
“Now that I will go to Fier, I will up the posters myself so as to please that stinking provocateur who wants to ruin Sunday.
“You sharpen your scythes, shovels and axes, have them ready for Sunday and if the ballots are compromised, the citizens of Fier and Mallastra will rise with the president at the lead.
“Now I want to tell the leader, very well done that you arrested those three in Kavaja, nevermind that you sent them yourself to Kavaja, these are villains connected with drug trafficking, as you like very much these types “, said Meta, addressing the Prime Minister Edi Rama.
