The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, decreed the resignation of Visho Ajazi Lika as Director of the Albanian Secret Service (SHISH).
Lika’s resignation was made public this Monday, when Prime Minister Rama held a 30-minute meeting with President Ilir Meta, proposing the man wo will replace Lika.
Unofficial sources say that Lika filed his resignation this Friday, although the reasons are not made public.
The President admitted that he was surprised by the resignation, since he had met Lika one week ago and had confirmed his institutional trust to continue his duty.
Meta said that they will not rush to decree Helidon Bendo, proposed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is the second person in charge at SHISH and who has been working there for the past 21 years.
