The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, declared that the meeting
with the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, gave no result for a presidential
candidate. The Socialists will be present on the floor, but they will
not vote.
“Rama’s requests for the candidate were very specific. He wanted a candidate that had never shaken hands with me. We made everything possible to find consensus”, Berisha declared.
Berisha confirmed that the ruling coalition has decided to vote Mr. Artan Hoxha, a media analyst, as Albania’s next president.
“Today we will vote Mr. Artan Hoxha in the most important process for the county, between two general elections and in full accordance with the Constitution”, Berisha declared, underlining that for this choice they respected the pact of 2009 with the Socialist Movement for Integration.
