Presidency warns that Parliament’s actions will be taken for consultation at the Venice Commission

The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, said that he will address the Venice Commission regarding the constitutional violations of the Albanian parliament in the process of appointing two members of the Constitutional Court.

The reaction comes after the Investigative Commission declared that there are several accusations against the President, and that they will also consult the Venice Commission about them.

The Spokesperson for the President, Tedi Blushi, said that they cannot stop anyone, especially the Parliament, to consult the Venice Commission or to opposed them and President Meta for the appointing of the Constitutional Judge.”Albania has a consolidated relationship with the Venice Commission and the institutions that decide to address this organ must treated the conclusions objectively and without political exploitation.
