Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke today in Parliament about the draft budget for 2025, where among the good news was an increase in the year-end reward for retirees, and a another payment for them in the spring “depending on economic growth”.
Among other things, Rama said that all pensioners who have a pension of up to 20,000 lek will receive triple the end of the year bonus, from 50 euros rising to 150 euros.
“Those pensioners who have highest salaries will only receive twice the remuneration of the reward. This difference between the first and the second is not made to give less to those who have a higher pension, but to give more to those who have a lower pension”, he added.
Meanwhile for all those who receive a social pension, the bonus is equal to an annual pension increase of nearly 13%, added Rama.
A second bonus will be that of the spring, which will further affect the increase in the annual income of pensioners and will be given at the beginning of each spring by dividing for all pensioners an amount obtained from the growth of the economy, the prime minister further promised.
“With these two annual bonuses, plus the automatic annual indexation of pensions in relation to the increase in prices, our pensioners will be able to immediately touch of the figures of the exemplary economic growth of Albania in recent years, on the way to EU membership within this decade,” he said.
