PM Rama on election campaign: Tired ministers will sit on the bench

03/09/2020 15:31

During his stay in the city of Vlora, Prime Minister Rama spoke to Top Channel about issues such as possible changes in the government, or the reason why some of the ministers will not be in charge of the electoral campaign in the regions.

Top Channel’s Muhamed Veliu: Since we are in Vlora, you will not lead the electoral campaign here but in Durrës. Why this decision?

Edi Rama: I have undertaken to take care of Durrës because it is an area of special importance at this stage when we need to build there a spectacular example of construction after the earthquake tragedy that occurred in Durrës. It is the most damaged part and the most challenging part of the reconstruction as there we will have to do a lot of work. As it is known or for those whom don’t  know I repeat that for the reconstruction in Durrës we have an agreement that I have made with the prince of the United Arab Emirates. It is the United Arab Emirates that will support us financially and with technical expertise in order to achieve something fantastic in Durrës.

Muhamed Veliu: Prime Minister, why only 3 of the 14 ministers you delegated to lead the campaign in the regions?

Edi Rama: When it comes to running the districts we do not talk about leading the campaign, as the campaign is still far away. Here we are talking about those who are caretakers at this stage but this is to be seen in the process and whoever gets tired will go to the second line and sit on the bench. Whoever has the energy will go on the attack to the end. So it’s not final nor does it matter if you are a minister or not.
