Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the Summer Day celebrations in Elbasan, from where he stated that the day brings a series of good news in terms of salary increases in Albania.

“The minimum salary beyond all the electoral programs of all the parties for this mandate and beyond the most optimistic forecasts, was possible to be raised to 40 thousand lek a month”, said Rama. The Prime Minister added that the government emphasized that it will not be complacent only with the increase of the minimum wage.

“We must also increase all other salaries to have a higher average salary than what we have today.

We started as the last in the region. Today, with the new minimum wage, we are in a better position in the region, even leaving some countries behind”, he said.

For pensioners, in addition to congratulating them on summer day, the prime minister promised: “We have not forgotten the promise to redistribute another special support to pensioners, using as a source the extraordinary temporary tax for large energy companies”.
