PM Rama meets the heads of state in Greece, invites businesses to invest in Albania

Prime Minister Edi Rama started the series of meetings in Athens today in the country’s parliament, where he was received by the Speaker Kostas Tasoulas.
“I appreciate the friendship between the two countries and the connecting bridges between our two peoples, such as the Greek minority in Albania and the Albanian immigrants in Greece”, said speaker Kostas Tasulas, adding that Greece supports Albania’s EU membership.
Prime Minister Edi Rama thanked the Speaker for the reception and appreciated the support.
“It is a special pleasure that we are in Athens today, the mutual desire to strengthen relations every day is very great, both Greek citizens living in Albania and Albanian citizens living in Greece.” – said Prime Minister Edi Rama.
President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, expressed to Prime Minister Edi Rama her confidence in the resolution of some open issues between Greece and Albania.
“My country is an ardent supporter of your European ascension journey and that of other Western Balkan countries. The definition of maritime areas and the issues that have remained pending between the two countries, I believe will help in this direction” – said Sakellaropoulou.
Then the head of the Albanian government participated in the Greece-Albania economic forum where he encouraged investments from Greek companies.
“Whoever looks at the figures of Greek investments they can see they are not where they should be. They have fallen. We have to find ways to change this but at the end of the day it’s a business issue. It is time to take other steps in the economic relations between Albania and Greece, even though the issues are being addressed with dedication and determination by both sides” – added Rama.
