The Parliament of Albania voted this Friday night the law for protection of national minorities.

The law passed with 102 votes in favor, 10 against and one abstaining.

Vangjel Dule, leader of the United for Human Rights Party, which represents the Greek minority in Albania, proposed some amends, claiming that this law makes our law not being recognized in international conventions.

“This law is characterized by a phobia, reminiscent of the Cold War. The mission of this law is not accomplished and some articles even set us back”, Dule said, but his amends were rejected by MPs.

The parliament also voted the electoral reform law with 116 votes in favor and none against.
