Parliament responds to the President on Council of Nominations issue

President Bujar Nishani kept confidential his communication with the Parliament to solve the issues created from the absence of the law on the formation of the Justice Council of Nominations. “Talks are under way and I would prefer not to make them public”, he said.

But Top Channel learned the Parliament’s response that suggests the President not to act formally just to respect the Constitution. In its’ response, the Parliament says the best solution is the President should first wait for the laws detailing the criteria of the candidates to pass.

After the changes of the Constitution the establishment of the Justice Council on Nominations is not an urgent matter, because this body will have to act in any case after the vetting process is applied on the members of the Constitutional Court and new Justice Inspectorate.

Official sources confirm that the draft will be ready on Monday and on the same we will now the opinion of the involved parties on it that will be expressed in the meeting called the next day by the President.
