The Democratic Party say the Venice Commission did not reject their
requests about the justice reforms. They have even supported two main
principles that the opposition has raised from the beginning, Paloka
says.

Edi Paloka led the meeting of the Parliamentary Group meeting this Wednesday in absence of Lulzim Basha, who is attending an official visit in the USA. Paloka spoke about the justice reform in this meeting:

“If Venice would have rejected the requests of the DP, it would mean giving green light to political capture of the justice system. Paloka said that Venice has recommended in its final report what the DP has insisted about, political dialogue and not allowing the justice system to be captured by the government”, Paloka said.

He reiterated the conditions of his party for sending two other Socialist mandates for a review at the Constitutional Court. The opposition say they have violated the law and have been in conflicts of interest to profit public funds.

“After Koco Kokedhima, our request for Rakip Suli will be voted tomorrow, and the request for Mrs.Valentina Leskaj will be discussedh by the Council of Mandates”, Paloka said.

As for the National Bureau of Investigation, the DP say it is a matter that needs to be resolved based on the Venice recommendations.
