Owners oppose price of land expropriation for regional hospital in Fier, donated by Turkey

A part of the residents of the village of Daullas in Fier have today opposed the government’s decision to build a regional hospital on their land.

Some of them are in favor of the construction while others oppose this plan.

According to the Top Channel correspondent in Fier, there are 10 families affected who do not agree with the expropriation price of 260 ALL per square meter.

Residents affected by the hospital construction plan say that land is the only source of livelihood for them and the price given is very low.

The inhabitants use the agricultural lands for planting and family income, as it is the only livelihood for these families.

Currently, the mayor Subashi is with the farmers, talking to them to find a solution. After tahe public hearing they had yesterday with Subashi, the residents affected by the construction of the regional hospital are indignant after PM Rama said that the hospital will be built, whether the residents want it or not.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised Prime Minister Edi Rama during the latter’s visit to Ankara that the Fier regional hospital will be ready on April 7. On January 9, Rama went to Fier to determine the location of the new hospital.
