The show Fiks Fare on Top Channel brought on Friday evening the embarrassing case of children in the village of Bukaq in Kavaja in central Albania, who have been going to school on foot for three months now, since they have no more transport.

The children of Bukaq village have to walk for about 1 hour and 10 minutes every day to go to their school, which is located in the neighboring village of Synej.

Previously, the children were provided with a van, but the driver now refuses to come any more because of the formo of payment.

Fiks reporters accompanied these children on a typical day to school, closely watching their long and difficult journey.

The children are aged 4 to 15 years. Small children aged 4 who follow the preschool cycle and get tired quickly from the long road, therefore older children are forced to carry them on their backs.

Along the way, they express concern about street dogs, fast moving cars and that their bags are too heavy, which makes it more difficult to walk to school.

For Fiks Fare, parents expressed their concern about transportation even though they say are willing to continue paying without being reimbursed.

Fiks Fare directed the problem to the Kavaja Education Office and the Kavaja Municipality about the schoolchildren’s problem, but the institutions delegate the blame to each other.
