Even after the prime minister’s second call to end the hunger strike, Ballshi oil women are determined not to go out without receiving their missing wages.

They said they were ready to negotiate, but without ending the hunger strike.

Development comes at a time when their health condition is getting worse.

Three of the striking women have received medical help after cardiac complications and hypertension.

Earlier through a Twitter post, Rama wrote that the oil workers should come out of the strike to talk.

“The oil workers must come out of the strike so that we can talk and not leave them alone in this problem that has been caused neither by the government, nor is it solved by pressure or ultimatums! We do not have a magic wand, we have all the will to alleviate the situation. With logic and solidarity as a family”, stated Rama.

For 24 days, the oil workers of the Ballsh refinery have been on hunger strike. The men of the refinery stayed in strike for 17 days, while today is the 7th day that their place is taken by the women. They demand unpaid arrears of wages, earned even through legal action.
