Oil price affects finances. Minister: “Fight against informality will compensate it”

05/02/2016 00:00

Budget revenues are expected to drop due the lower oil price in
international markets. The Minsiter of Finances, Shkelqim Cani, asid
from Korce that they didn’t expect the price drop to continue even this
year.

According to Cani, the absence of revenues will be compensated by an action against informality.

However, we think that the operation against informality will give effects during 2016”, Cani said.

The revenues from the oil imports make an important part of the budget, and the dropped price affects the VAT collection. A few days ago, the National Bank dropped the oil price predictions from 51 USD per barrel to 37.
