Number of businesses in debt with the Tax Office increases at 16073

Tax Office data show that the number of businesses in debt marked a historic record, reaching at 6541.

Compared to one year ago, the number has increased 3.5 fold, and this tendency has continued even during this year. According to the Tax Office, 3000 other enterprises were added to the list.

These are the businesses that have had the administration follow all obligation collection, from the evaluation of unpaid taxes to the freezing of bank accounts.

Since the debt has not been paid even after these steps, these enterprises have had their assets seized. Experts say that these businesses are on the brink of bankruptcy. The number of businesses in difficulties increased in 2012, when the economy slowed down.
