Victoria Nuland, the Assistant Secretary of State for European and
Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State, will be
visiting Tirana today as part of her Balkan tour.

Nuland will hold meetings with high-rank officials of political parties and civil society members. Justice reform will be the main focus of these meetings, as the issue that still holds the Albanian parties in tension.

Nuland accompanied US State Department of State, John Kerry, during his visit in Tirana a few months ago. Even during her first visit, she recommended the Albanian political class to pass a qualitative and all-inclusive justice reform.

The US State Department has contacted with the Albanian opposition in the past week. During her phone conversations with the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, and Prime Minister Berisha, she has been updated with the matters currently unresolved and the propositions made by the Democratic Party.

A few days from the voting of the Parliament draft, Nuland is expected to address the political class with a clear message.

Donald Lu, on the other hand, is continuing his meetings with representatives of the opposition. After meeting with Astrit Patozi a few days ago, this time he spoke with MP Majlinda Bregu.
