The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, sent a congratulation message to
the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy.
“The symbolism of this day makes us bring to our memory the cooperation and peace as values built during the years, and now consolidated in the European Union, becoming an inspiration and encouraging model for Western Balkan countries in their integration aspirations, to leave behind the past of conflicts and build together the European future”, Nishani’s letter says.
The President also valued the constant support that the European institutions have given and are giving to Albania for fulfilling the integration criteria.
