New US ambassador Kim glorifies the common Albanian-American spirit

In the context of introductory meetings for her new role in Albania, the US ambassador Yuri Kim was today in a meeting where were present the EU ambassador in Tirana, Luigi Soreca and the Albanian Justice Minister, Etilda Gjonaj.
The US representative stated that they were all there for the same purpose, namely, to serve Albania and its development, regardless of their nationality.
“It’s hard to believe that I have only been in Albania nine days, but in these nine days I have met a great part of you, and I’m sorry if I may sound repetitive because I have said the same things, insisting on how important justice reform is. I want to thank ambassador Soreca, not only for his kind words but also for his excellent speech on the justice reform. We are all on the same side”, stated the US ambassador.
Skenderbeg and George Washington comparison
Further on taking examples from history, Kim pointed out similar past struggles of the two countries in pursuit of justice.
“In fact, I look at this hall full of justice sector people, I think of two extraordinary personalities, Skanderbeg and George Washington. I believe that the spirit of Skanderbeg is still present in Albania, as is the spirit of Washington. Their spirit is alive here and I want to tell you to keep it alive”, Kim said.
