Netherlands is skeptical, fact collecting mission: “Albania, not ready for EU accession”

Netherlands is one of the skeptic countries for opening the accession negotiations with Albania. For this reason they have sent a fact-collecting mission.
The group of Dutch MPs met with Prime Minister Edi Rama, the DP leader, Lulzim Basha, and members of the civil society.
Speaking for the media, they said that Albania is not ready since impunity of officials remains a problem.
“Albanians are problematic in the Netherlands”, they said, adding that they are still collecting information and that there is no final decision from the Netherlands.
The recommendations of the Council are expected to be voted this June, which will decide if Albania will start the accession negotiations with the EU.
