A hotel on the beach of Velipoja in northern Albania was engulfed in flames yeasterday as a result of a gas cylinder explosion. As a result, four people were seriously injured, the ownng family comprised of the mother and her three children.
The mother is in a slightly more stable condition, while the three children have third-degree burns, tha authorities stated.
The State Technical Inspectorate warns that camping gas containers, which are often used for cooking in beach rooms, can be left open at night as a result of human error.
The amount of gas leaked and the enclosed environment has created conditions for explosion and fire, in the presence of external factors such as the lighting of lights or the use of other sources of fire.
