The Ministry of Labour and Social Works, Spiro Ksera, declared that the
requests of the disabled people and their protests for the delayed
payments are right.
In the last three months the government has not paid the obligations for this category by not giving the payments approved by law.
The Minister explains that the money has arrived from the local administration and will be paid soon.
“The local administration has not agreed with the requests. Some of them faced difficulties with the Ministry funds because the legal-medical commissions that give the status had increased the number of people and we had not foreseen it in our project. I promise that 2013 will not have such problems”, Ksera declared.
The disabled people have protested for months by asking the state to implement the law. Their health and economic situation is very difficult and they have been told in many cities that there is no money. The Ministry of Labour promised that they will reform the scheme, so that such delays will not repeat.
