Minister refuses to help farmers with the 10 million euros budget money as reimbursement for fuel

The significant increase in prices in 2022 brought a increase in income to the state budget.

Top Channel learns that the finances of the Albanian government still have about 950 million euros of surplus.

Of these, 11 billion lek will go to the expropriation fund, while yesterday the government decided that 80 million euros will go as a reward for pensioners and employees of the administration.

According to reports, the only one who refused to increase the financial help for farmers is Minister of Agriculture Frida Krifca.

Krifca refused to have the 1 billion lek or 10 million euros to pay the farmers for the oil used in agriculture with the argument that there is not enough time for the tender.

She was given as another solution the payment of farmers in cash, but did not accept this either.

This wrong decision of the Minister of Agriculture may have negative consequences for Albanian agriculture. Agriculture experts think that this money can be returned to farmers in another form, 10 million euros may become part of the agriculture budget in 2023.

“The only solution that should be proposed to bring the money to the farmers is the fact that since the decision of the schemes for 2023 has not yet been signed by the prime minister, the scheme can be added to this year’s decree as part of the farmers refund of the arrears of the oil scheme”, said expert Ilir Pliku.

The Minister of Agriculture, this new year will buy Greek and Turkish tomatoes for the market because Albanian products have been damaged by a series of obstacles, discrimination and mostly by the inability of agriculture officials to do their job.
