The State Minister for Europe in Bavaria declared that the Albanian
people have no chances to have their asylum requests accepted. Beate
Merk says that Albania is considered a safe country of origin. The
asylum in Germany is approved only for those people whose life is in
danger.

“I understand people wanting to immigrate for a better life, but the Albanian asylum seekers must know that they cannot have the asylum accepted in Germany. We will not help them financially, but only with food and clothes. The second measure will be an accelerated procedure, so that they can return to their countries. Albania is a safe country and is taking huge steps for their EU integration. We will make a request to have Albania classified as a safe country”, says Beate Merk, Minister of State for Europe in Bavaria.

The Deputy Minister of Interior, Elona Gjebrea, declared that the police is appealing the Albanian citizens to not violate the movement rules in the Schengen area.

“No one will be tolerated to abuse with the free movement. The visa free regime has been dreamt for many Albanians who are using it correctly. We must not allow having another situation only because of some people. I appeal the Albanian citizens to violate the free movement rules and not abuse”, Gjebrea declared.

This December, dozens of Albanians fell prey of the deceit of a tourist agency. They sold everything they had to go to Germany and request asylum.
