“If we had to make an appeal today, it would be simple for every woman, every mother, please do not neglect anything if there is something wrong with your health. Today free breast checks are offered in state health structures. It does not cost anything for a woman to perform a mammogram, 1 hour, 10 minutes, it does not cost her anything to enable early detection”.
This was the message of the Minister of Health and Social Protection from the march that took place in Elbasan sponsored by the YWCA organization in the month of breast cancer awareness.
Emphasizing that in the last three years has been invested in 6 regional hospitals that have been equipped with new mammograms, Manastirliu added that through the approval of the National Breast Cancer Screening Program it is intended that every woman aged 50-69 years perform in time diagnosing for the purpose of early detection of breast tumor.
“Through this program we aim for every woman aged 50-69 years to be able to perform mammography once in 2 years aiming at early detection of breast cancer”, said Manastirliu, adding that already for all women herceptin, one of the therapies, is provided 100% free by the state.
