One day after the government announced that they will hire an international law firm to verify the agreement with the concessionary company that has the exclusive usage of the Tirana International Airport.
This move was seen as an effort to make an early termination of the agreement, but the Minister of Transportation, Belinda Balluku, declared that this is only about taking measures to improve the quality of their services.
This means that the agreement will not be taken to the arbitration court, which could have resulted with serious consequences.
The agreement signed in 2004 with the concessionary company expires in 2027.
