The Department of Mines Inspection and Salvation from METE (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy) has given the alarm
that work interruption in Bulqize mines has increased the danger of
massive stope collapse.
Through a press release, METE declared that the interruption maintenance works risks the collapse of all underground armoring frameworks. Since the mineworkers have been isolated underground, they don’t allow specialists and maintenance workers to enter the mine.
By not turning the ventilation system and the water pumps on, harmful gases can collect inside the gallery and the humidity could cause stopes to collapse and could also damage several equipments. The Mines Inspection Department, which is an institution depended by METE, concludes that all these elements are degrading the mine. For this reason, they asked respective institutions to ensure the uninterrupted control of the mine by their specialists and others from ACR.
