Meta: Opposition is not boycotting

“The opposition not only has no intention to block the elections, but on
the contrary, we would want them even earlier”, declared the leader of
the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta, during a meeting with
the local structures of the party he leads.
Meta commented the new opposition coalition between the Socialist Party and the SMI, which, according to him, is not against PM Berisha, but favors the citizens.
“This is not a coalition with the SP against DP, but a coalition to change Albania. This coalition will open way to the changes within the DP, because, unfortunately, our active and constructive efforts of these years, and after the cooperation in government with the DP, we understood that the concentration of powers on one political force had turned into a problem. On June 23rd Albania will not be as divided as today, and we want the Albanians to not feel as divided as today”, Meta declared.
