Meta and McCain discuss about Albania, the region and security

The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, received this Friday the
Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee at the US Senate, Senator John
McCain.
During this meeting, Meta and McCain talked about the strategic partnership between Albania and the USA, the political situation in the country and about the recent developments in the region.
As for the situation in Albania, Meta underlined that the political class has the obligation to be more responsible and create the right climate for holding elections based on the highest modern standards.
Meta and McCain both share the opinion that the USA should increase their attention in Southeastern Europe, and are hopeful that Albania will contribute positively with the advance of the Euro-Atlantic agenda in the region.
They also both declared that Albania needs to increase its defense budget, which helps reinforcing the stability and investment climate in the area.
