Top Channel’s journalist Marin Mema was honored with the “Hasan Prishtina” award from the association for returning evicted Albanians to their homes.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, was present at the special ceremony that was held in Prishtina. He underlined the necessity of having the entire Albanian factor reinforced.

“Marin Mema is not an aged journalist who has completed his career, or who has achieved its peak. He is one of those young Albanians who never stopped to trace the origins of who we really are. There are many here who are doing a similar work and by honoring Marin Mema we are honoring each of them”, Prime Minister Haradinaj declared.

Organizers say this award has a special value, because it fully the reveals the true and painful history of the Albanian people, which has often been hidden by many factors, according to Jahja Lluka, founder of the “Hasan Prishtina” award.

“Marin Mema showed more courage than politicians and he has brought Albanian Traces in all lands of old Albania”, said Mehmet Prishtina, relative of Hasan Prishtina.

Mema said that this award had a special importance for him, since it held the name of one of the biggest figures of the Albanian nation, Hasan Prishtina, and because it gives him more responsibility and obligation for progressing even more in the future and bring more historic truths.
