Former Minister of Justice Ylli Manjani accused the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) of making absurd arrests in the incinerators corruption afair.
According to Manjani, SPAK is accusing “dead fish” without law and facts, not revealing the truth and moving further and further away from the “big fish”.
He lists the senior officials arrested in the incinerator case, saying: ‘Lefteri is accused of corruption without a single penny caught, when in fact the activity looks like evasion on the part of the company.
Alqi is accused of decisions that belong to the government and not to the civil service. Arben Dervishi, the private engineer, is accused of crimes related to a public duty that he does not have”.
“Mirel Mertiri is accused of corruption with companies that are not his” – says Manjani, describing the accusations as “absurd legal inventions and rationalizations”.
“The issue of incinerators clearly seems like a deep crack inside the dome of power.
A crisis that translates into collateral human damage, and on public finances. The SPAK investigation does not deal with this crack which could lead to the big fish, but deals with dead fish. SPAK has not yet managed to create a scheme and a pyramid of persons, but hastened to fabricate investigations and raised forced accusations”, added the former minister.
