Malaj, debates in Kombinat

The Socialist MPs Arben Malaj and Andis Harasani met the residents of Kombinat, Tirana, as part of their tour Around Albania.

Same as in other meetings, Malaj criticized the leadership of the Socialist Party and emphasized the need to reform the party based on meritocracy and not on negative business influences.

“It is unforgivable that the Socialist Party is so late in creating a positive model. We see that the leadership of this party has lost the courage to debate, to realize good things for this country, to the point that together with the Democratic Party, there were 130 MPs who changed the Constitution in favor of an absolute power for Sali Berisha, as Prime Minister, so that Edi Rama could take absolute power in the Socialist party, with the closed lists system. To what served this unity and loyalty of the Albanians? Why do we say today that it was a mistake, one year and a half after changing it with so much solidarity? Can a political leader allow himself to accept occasional compromises that allow him to control his party better, and when the Party doesn’t get a political victory, he’s suddenly reminded that it was a mistake”, declared the Socialist MP, Arben Malaj.

When the participators started posing questions to the MPs, some of them expressed the concern that on the room there were SMI and DP supporters.

In front of this situation, the MPs Malaj and Harasani preferred to interrupt the meeting, to not allow any escalation.

Outside the premises there were tendencies of clashes between the groups that were present in the room, but the police avoided incidents.
