Majority will wait for the Venice Commission recommendations on “Bureau of Investigation”

The weekly meeting of the government coalition partners wended this afternoon.

The SP was represented by PM Edi Rama, Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, Minister of Economy Arben Ahmetaj and the Parliamentary Group leader, Gramoz Ruci.

The SMI was represented by party leader and Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta, Parliamentary Group leader Petrit Vasili, Chairman of the National Security Commission, Spartak Braho, and Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti.

Present were also the vice Parliamentary Speaker, Shpetim Idrizi. Fatmir Xhafaj, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Justice Reform, joined the meeting a little later.

The meeting lasted two hours and the only one speaking was the Minister of Economy, Arben Ahmetaj, who said that they have discussed two topics, the IMF meeting on February 17th and the National Bureau of Investigation.

When asked about the dependency of the National Bureau of Investigation, the Prosecution General, if they would follow the Croatian or the Romanian model, Ahmetaj said they would wait for the Venice Commission decision.
