The show ‘Fiks Fare’ on Top Channel brought today the problem of some elderly people of the city of Elbasan in central Albania who complain about the long queue at the Post Office No. 6, where they withdraw their monthly pension payment. But what worries them the most is that when they turn comes, the office rans out of money.
The elderly say that they get up early in the morning to receive their pensions, because if they go late they cannot get the money, and it takes another day to queue again.
Even though they went out early in the morning, some of them are still queuing at 12:00 noon, adding here the bad news of the post office workers who inform them that they have run out of money.
Pensions are distributed from the 1st to the 26th of each month, as each day is divided according to a daily payment schedule. In this daily chart, it is determined how much funds the post office should have available, but apparently this has not been implemented by this post office.
Fiks Fare was interested in the offices where this distribution takes place, the counter workers said that the queue has come from the large flow of people and that this happens because the post office covers a very large area. But none of the employees admits that there were shortages in the distribution of pensions and that everything was correct on their part.
Officials say that there have been no complaints from the citizens, but now that Fiks Fare has referred this issue to them, measures will be taken so these problems will not occur again.
