After about two and a half hours of gathering, the national protest with thousands of citizens called by two opposition parties against the government, corruption and the living expenses has ended tonight.

The head of the Democratic Party, former Prime Minister Berisha, said from the podium placed in front of the Prime Minister’s office that Albanians are leaving the country because the funds are stolen by the governors and Prime Minister Rama.

“Today, Albanians experience every crisis as a national drama and tragedy because Edi Rama steals from them. On November 26, Albania was hit by a severe earthquake where 51 citizens were killed, but their funds were stolen. They still live in tents and containers, while ministers order steaks for $1,000, because they steal the funds,” said Berisha.

“Today, the High State Audit revealed that this government has stolen 8.2 billion euros in seven years. But these are not the only ones. There are billions of euros that Edi Rama and his gang are stealing, but the most serious is the theft of the hope and trust of the Albanians”.

“Albania today is a vassal of others as its decisions are made in Belgrade or Ankara. This rally is the powerful siren of hope for every Albanian to join us, so that we shorten Edi Rama’s days and wait for his ticket to go where he belongs. Edi Rama, thief, you’ll go to jail! Ten years of promises and deceptions, but today this has come to an end, no one trusts Rama anymore, he is now leaving his promises aside and started swearing,” said Berisha, among other things.

While his ally in the opposition, Meta, considered this an extraordinary day, adding that the protests will continue.

“Protests will continue without end. Protests and elections, elections and protests, Edi Rama without any discussion is forced to listen to the countdown song, he has no legitimacy, he is a hope-killer, for the people, for the young men and women of the country. This happens because of the capture of the state and the blow it has given to political pluralism. Today I am sure that a step forward has been taken to guarantee accountability, first for Rama and all the others,” said Meta.
