The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stated today that the physical attack that happened on Thursday in the Parliament by the opposition MPs of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, and those in in power, was prepared beforehand.

In a statement to the media, he said that the opposition MPs had no reason to attack the government members. The head of the executive of Kosovo added that the attack did not occur as a result of any provocation by the governors.

“I believe that there was no reason to attack the Government of Kosovo in the Assembly of the Republic. Those who defend the attack look for a reason but they can find neither. However, there are things that may not be known when there are no witnesses and no filming.

“But there we had the maximum of filming and we had many witnesses who will tell the truth of the situation, which was clearly not a matter of provocation orcounter-provocation but it was a matter of a prepared attack, since the speed with which they jumped from their seats in the direction of the seats of my colleagues from the Government, and this clearly shows that there was nothing spontaneous there”, said Kurti.

The Kosova Prime Minister further called on the deputies to organize debates in the Assembly with arguments and counter-arguments for each issue.

“Once again, I ask the members of the Assembly of the Republic to organize parliamentary debates for everything, where we sift through our arguments, facts, positions, thoughts, opinions, without violence. And those who are right, believe in the right they should represent and not be afraid of debate.

“I believe I am the prime minister that from the declaration of independence of Kosovo, was the most punctual in answering parliamentary questions”, Kurti added.
