The Parliament of Kosovo voted on Wednesday the new Government headed by Avdullah Hoti.

The prime minister before asking MPs vote on his new Cabinet presented names of ministers, which were approved with 61 votes in favour, 24 against and 1 abstention.

Besnik Tahiri of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) will be first deputy prime minister, whereas Driton Selmanaj (LDK) second deputy prime minister. Other deputy prime ministers are Albulena Balaj-Halimaj (Nisma), and Goran Rakic (Srpska List) who will also hold the position of the Minister of Local Government Administration.

Following the October 6, 2019 elections, former prime minister’s Albin Kurti, Vetevendosje and the LDK reached an agreement on co-government, but the coalition collapsed after Prime Minister Kurti fired Interior Minister Agim Veliu.

The Kurti government was overthrown through a no-confidence motion in the Kosovo Assembly.
