Today, Kosovo celebrated the 15th anniversary of Independence, while among the state figures there was Albanian president Bajram Begaj.
A session was held in the National Assembly, while the Albanian President Begaj, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke.
In the morning the flag of the Republic of Kosovo was solemnly raised in front of the government building, while the representatives of Kosovo’s institutions paid tribute at the “Adem Jashari” Martyrs Memorial Complex in Prekaz, and at the grave of independence activist Adem Demaçi.
Also in honor of the anniversary in the main square of capital Pristina, the military troops of the Kosovo Security Force and the Kosovo Police paraded.
The Declaration of Independence of Kosovo was made on February 17, 2008 at 15:39 in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo in Pristina.
In an extraordinary meeting attended by 109 out of the 120 deputies, the Assembly of Kosovo declared Kosovo an independent, sovereign and democratic state.
