Albanian Ministry of Health announced today that in the last 24 hours 12 people have been infected with coronavirus and one patient lost his life.
The number of people infected with covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 132,297, while that of the deaths 2,449.
3255 tests were performed today and confirmed positive cases were identified in the following municipalities: 3 cases in Shkodra, 2 cases in Tirana, Korca, 1 case each in Fier, Devoll, Prrenjas, Kolonja and Saranda.
Currently 41 patients are being treated in COVID hospitals, of which 6 patients in intensive therapy. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the battle with COVID19 was lost by an 89 years old woman from Saranda.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the family.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to the citizens to continue to apply the rules for the prevention of COVID19: Wear the protective mask in any closed premises and wherever physical distance can not be maintained, take care of personal hygiene and isolate yourself when you suspect you are affected by COVID19.
