Korce, teaching in a shop

Students in the Drithas village, Korce, have been unable to start this academic year in a normal education institution.

They have been teaching for years in inappropriate premises, since the building that should act as a school was very damaged.

The only area that has been adopted for the 40 children of this village is a half school and half shop, but even there children say that winter has been difficult.

Concerned parents appealed for the authorities to find a solution for their children, although time is very short, since school starts after two days.

According to the commune, they have started the first works for the construction of a new school in this village, but they are expected to end by November and since then children will keep working in bad conditions.
