The Italian media wrote about Kelmend Balili and the 768 kg of cannabis
recently seized in the coastline of Greece, which was to be sent to
Salento, Italy.
“Corriere” writes that the final destination of the drug quantity was Milan, the preferred area of traffickers, due to the high price.
The newspaper quotes sources from the Guardia di Finana, which say that marijuana price in Milan mounts up to 700-800 EUR per kg.
“Corriere” says that the leader of this organization is a person named as the “Balkan Escobar”, wanted in half of European countries.
“A public administration manager and trusted man of the Albanian government, as called by media that quote negative sources, was seen several times in Milan for official and informal meetings with other Albanians in Italy”, Corriere says, adding that Albanian groups are very active in Abbiategrasso.
The newspaper adds that during his stay in Milan, Balili preferred to visit main areas, such as the “Galeria” in Duomo, expensive shops in Porta Venezia and Repubblica.
They say that Escobar, who might be hiding in Greece, used his post as an official to transport drugs and to learn in real time the movements of Prosecutors and Chiefs of Police.
Corriere adds that something doesn’t “something doesn’t work with the Albanian justice, since criminals disappear just before the arrest”.
