Italy bans tourism travel from Albania; Allows only work, study and emergency trips

An official announcement from the Italian Embassy in Tirana stated that due to the coronavirus pandemic, Albania-Italy (and vice versa) travel will be allowed only for specific reasons, such as work, health or study reasons, urgencies, return to work or residence, thus banning travel for tourism.

Their announcement among other things states:

“It is always allowed to return to Italy from Albania, for Italian / EU / Schengen zone citizens and their families, as well as citizens provided with a regular residence permit and their family members. Upon return to Italy, the citizen must self-quarantine as well as undergo medical supervision, complete a self-declaration in which to present the reason which allow them to return to Italy.

“There are some exceptions to the obligation to be quarantined such as the case when the citizen has not stayed or transited in the countries: Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania, Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, Kuwait, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Oman, Panama, Peru or Dominican Republic, in the 14 days prior to the date of entry into Italy.”
