The former Albanian Interior Minister, SAimir Tahiri, was under investigation by the Italian Antimafia just three days after declaring in a press release that he would request through his lawyers to be investigated in both countries.
After five months of investigations, the Italian Anti-Mafia Prosecution asked the Italian Court to drop the investigation against Tahiri, as there is no evidence or facts.
The Prosecution of Catania took this decision after verifying the surveillance tape, the purchase of jewels from Tahiri’s family members, and after investigating the travel data in the Schengen Area, which didn’t prove that he had traveled with the Habilaj.
