The Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, is meeting his counterpart in Albania as the country is waiting for the EU to take a positive decision about the EU accession negotiations.
“This was an important moment, as the Prime Minister of our friend, Italy, came to Tirana despite the fact that there is a lot to do for him in Rome, due to the current situation. This shows once again the traditional friendship for deepening the cooperation between both countries”, Rama said.
For Rama, Conte’s visit comes in a very important week for Albania, as the EU is about to discuss the opening of the accession negotiations.
“The conclusion of this process should be viewed not only in the eyes of national interests but also in the common interest. On the other hand, we are not in this process because Brussels or Berlin asked us to, but because we want to create a European Albania”, Rama said.
