The Italian journalist, Nicolo Zancan, has made a report about the
situation of refugees stuck between the Greek and Macedonian border,
after authorities closed all passages.
The Italian authorities are now concerned that the refugees will change itinerary and walk through Albania to Italy. Everybody in this corner of Balkan, he says in his report, is expecting to see women and children going through the rainy mountains and the border checkpoints that used to check only goods.
The Italian authorities say that the Vlore traffickers have already prepared their illegal boats to start a new business, take the refugees through the sea to Italy.
Journalist Nicolo Zancan quotes the Albanian Foreign Minister saying that Albania will build no walls, but it has no capacity to welcome everyone. However, PM Rama had given another message on Top Channel’s “Top Story”, saying that Albania doesn’t have the economic force to confront this emergency alone, but we will do our part.
The horrible situation already created in Greece might get across the border to Albania and from there to Italy.
