Ishem residents in Durres are protesting against a decision of the
Ministry of Culture to unearth the remains of the world renowned
painter, Ibrahim Kodra, and placing them in a monumental grave built at
the Artificial Lake of Tirana.
One day ago residents did not allowed the workers to remove the remains, saying that Kodra’s last will was to rest in his birthplace.
The decision for unearthing the painter was taken after a request addressed to the Ministry of Culture by the “Kodra” foundation, which say that his remains in Tirana would glorify even more the activity of this painter.
